HUB ShaftCoupler DCNC-D40-L65-B19.00mm with 6mm Keyway

These shaft couplings are very high-quality servo couplings. They can handle very high torque and have absolutely no backlash. We use these couplings for NEMA24 steppermotors and 750w Delta servo motors. See the PDF manual and DXF drawings for technical details. Combinations of different shaft diameters are possible. For example, a 19mm hub for the stepper motor and an 12mm hub for the ballscrew. A spider is required for every two hubs.

This is a special version of the shaft coupling. In addition to the clamp coupling, it also has a keyway. Generally, we oppose the use of keyways in CNC applications because they always end up twisting and loosening due to the constant back and forth movement. A clamp coupling, like the one we've been selling at DamenCNC for years, is a much better coupling because it always has maximum surface area in contact with the coupling and therefore will never twist loose. However, we kept getting questions about whether we could also make a clamp coupling with a keyway. After all, all Leadshine stepper motors and Delta servo motors also have these integrated into the motor shaft. The version we currently sell is designed for a specific application. The idea is that your friction/clamp coupling will function 99.9% of the time. In the event of extreme overload, or if someone forgets to tighten the clamp coupling, the keyway will do its job. So, consider it a backup or failsafe. We also deliberately incorporated a loose fit on the keyway. This allows you to easily fit it over the motor shaft without needing hammers or other tools. This is undesirable, as the encoders cannot withstand the impact.
