NPSM481-72P 72VDC 480W - Ultra Compact - Parallelable - DIN Rail PowerSupply

High efficiency and extremely compact size DIN Rail power supply. It can be mounted on TS-35/7.5 or TS-35/15 DIN Rails. The body is only 56mm wide, which means space can be saved inside controller cabinets. Compared to an the most compact Meanwell NDR model which is 86mm, that is another 30mm slimmer. So it really is Ultra compact.

 The entire series adopts the full range single phase AC input from 90 VAC to 264VAC and conforms to ENC61000-3-2, the norm the European Union regulates for harmonic current.

NPSM-481 is designed with a metal housing that enhances the heat/power dissipation. With working efficiency up to 94%, the entire series can operate between -40 to 70 degrees celsius under free air convection. It is equipped with constant current mode for overload protection, fitting various inductive or capacitive applications. The complete protection functions and relevant certificates for industrial control (UL508, TUV EN60950-1, and etc) make NPSM-481 a very high end powersupply solution for demanding industrial applications.

 This 72VDC is handy in CNC controllers that use steppermotors. It can be used to power several steppers drivers. Most often used with NEMA 23 and NEMA 34 steppermotors when more performance is required. We use this power supply in our CNC controllers as well. Its great that its DIN-rail mountable. And that its very compact is also something that we prefer. Another nice feature, is that we stock and sell the P version. Which means the DC output is parallelable. When you are building a CNC controller with many axis. This is a big advantage, because you can then share the DC bus between all drivers. Meaning there is less need for a brake resistor. But also in general the chance of getting over voltage errors is minimized. A stepper driver on a CNC machine that is heavy, works like a generator. This pushed the DC voltage up under braking. This can lead to failure of power supplies and other components. The great thing with these power supplies is that this is minimized. As an option we have also a DC brake module, that can be coupled. It's something that is rarely necessary. But can be very handy to have. Mainly in DC servo motor applications.
