Modbus RTU communication

EM2RS series open loop stepper drives are based on standard Modbus RTU protocol, using RS485 communication can network up to 31 axis, built-in 16-segment position table (PR-mode). With the internal position controller, they can save additional controllers in most of point-to-point applications, to greatly enhance system reliability and reduce cost. They also support the feature of teaching, the operation modes of profile position, profile velocity and homing. 

These stepperdrivers can also be used without modbus, but by using the digital inputs. You can use Leadshine Motion Studio Software to make an internal PR program. And then using some inputs as event triggers, motions can be made. The functions are very basic. So it often can replace a complete CNC controler. But for many applications that require homing, and guarding of some limit switches. And moving to several positions, it's possible, and very easy to setup.
