At DamenCNC we often use these modules when we need to interface with temperature sensors like thermo couples. Most often this is for heat controllers that require an analog signal to regulate the power.

The S7-1200 has an advanced PID controller integrated, that makes tuning very easy.This expansion card is placed to the right of the main CPU on the DIN Rail. It's a relatively compact unit that takes up 45mm of DIN Rail width.
