These solid state relays are available in a Single Phase and Three Phase versions, the type we offer here is the 3 phase type. The units are very complete, they include a plastic cover for isolation, but also have a LED status indicator. The relays work directly with TTL and are opticly isolated, so can be connect to EdingCNC/USBCNC/PLC or other software interfaces. Overall a very nice product for a good price. When selecting a current rating take into account that a heatsink is required, if you want to use the listed/rated current. We often oversize the relay by at least 50%, so that heat is less of an issue. When no heatsink is used we advise to use this 40Amp relay with maximum 10amps.

- CAUTION when testing SSR: in normal condition, AC SSR ha a leak current about 0.5~2mA, therefore, when SSR input terminals without control voltage , to measure output terminals by voltage meter, meter still displays a voltage. Correct testing method is to connect a lamp (minimal)15W, and the connect the voltage meter to the lamp.
- WARNING: Loads like incandescent lamps and electric cookers can cause 10 times surge current for 1 cycle. To select the correct SSR, the rated current should be equal to 1.8 times the rated current of electric cooker. 1.5 times of rated current for incandescent lamps.
- WARNING: AC electric magnet and relays may cause 4~5 times surge current. AC induction motors will cause 5~7 surge current when turning ON, and it lasts for about 10 cycles. For a normal SSR to control an induction AC motor, SSR current range should be at least 7-10 times the rated motor current.
