CS-M23445B is a 2 phase NEMA34-4.5Nm stepper motor with integrated 1,000-line incremental encoder. When driven by the 2 phase CS-D1008E drive, the position loop between the motor and drive is fully closed. Therefore, loss of steps which limits adoption of stepper systems is totally eliminated. This model also has an integrated brake. The brake has a holding torque of 6Nm, and is active when no power is applied. To release it apply 24VDC power. This is often used on the Z-axis of a CNC machine or 3D printer to prevent the head from falling down on the product, should a power failure occur
